Privacy

This site collects only the information needed to publish comments, send requested email updates, understand readership, and prevent abuse.

Reading analytics

When a post is opened, Seminary Thoughts records the post, time, referring site, browser user agent, an abbreviated network address, and an approximate city, region, and country when that information is available. A one-way visitor identifier helps distinguish repeat visits without storing the full network address.

Reading events are deleted after 90 days. The site also uses a first-party, 30-day browser identifier to enforce reasonable request limits. It is not used for advertising or shared with data brokers.

Comments and email

A comment stores the display name and text you submit. An email subscription stores the email address and optional name you provide. Subscription messages include an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deactivates future mail.

Storage and control

Site data is kept in the owner’s self-hosted database and is not sold. You can avoid comment and subscription storage by not submitting those forms. You can also unsubscribe from any email using the link in that message.
